We recently launched the Super Size Network on Corridor Careers.  Here is a press release regarding the terrifice new feature:

Seventeen Publishers Sign Up To Launch The Job Network’s Unique  Super Size Ad Program

In the last several weeks 17 publishers, representing over 95 newspapers, have either launched or will soon launch a new Super Sized Ad program – a new and highly attractive upgrade to regular employment ads.  This program allows a newspaper to dramatically improve the results for employment ads by pushing them to a host of major job boards.  In a test, most Super Sized ads generated more qualified applicants than Monster.com.  Advertisers would spend thousands of dollars and endless hours posting jobs to all the sites that are part of the Supersize network, if they had to do it themselves.

The local newspaper can now provide better service for less money and meet all the needs of the local advertiser, whether the advertiser has to fill a blue collar job or a high-end senior management position.  This means new business and revenue for newspapers, from both existing clients as well as from companies that post jobs on other job boards for local and national job openings.

Star Community Newspapers in Plano Texas has just completed their first month selling Super Sized Ads.  Here’s what Roger Will, New Media Business Development Manager for American Community Newspapers had to say, ” In the first month we not only up-sold close to 50% of our advertisers into the program but we also saw dramatic traffic building results.

”In January, we had nearly 38,000 visitors to our Job Network-powered site.

The increase in traffic was immediate following the launch of the Super Sized Ad program. January showed a 300% increase in traffic from the proceeding month. Using our Google Analytics we were able to determine what kind of traffic we were getting and from which sites, and it was outstanding.

”Our analytics showed that 89% of our traffic was from Texas where we are located and out of that about 90% was coming out of local adjoining neighborhoods.  Frankly, I was really amazed by the amount of lift the Super Sized Network gave us in our local market and how extremely local the improved results were.”

Gina Burkhart, the Classified Advertising Manager at Star Community Newspapers in Plano, TX said, “We not only are getting outstanding results for our advertisers but greatly benefit from the large amounts of new applicants and registered job seekers we received, because when someone sees our ad on another site in the network and wants more information or to apply, they come back to our site.  Our resume database is growing dramatically.  The average number of clicks per ad grew by over 1100% and the number of applicants grew by over 900%.  It really works!”

Kevin Hoppes, VP of Sales & Marketing for The Job Network said, “We have worked to build partnerships with job boards that can allow a local paper to deliver as good, if not better results, than the big job boards.  If it’s a local advertiser, it will produce great results just like it did for Star Community Newspaper’s local advertisers.  Our Super Sized Network averages over 37 million job seekers on a monthly basis.  It is big enough so that now a local newspaper can sell in any location and help an advertiser fill a position in any category.  Advertisers who in the past felt they needed to go to a big job board like CareerBuilder to fill a high-end white collar job can now get better results for less money through their local newspaper.”
